Set in the pool building of Casa Tia Maria, the 'Casa Señorial' of the village of Acequias, Casa del Jardin is a comfortable TWO bedroom apartment accessible from the pool/garden and with its own private terrace overlooking the same..   The main attractions of Tia Maria  - a walled garden and 10 mt by 5 mt pool facing south west - are available to you just a few paces away. For the protection of young children there is a gate between Casa del Jardin and the pool, and no dogs are allowed in the grounds. The village of Acequias is quiet but Casa del Jardin is even quieter for being inside a private area. This area is shared by four other small houses and apartments, plus our own apartment. The village of Acequias is quiet but Casa del Jardin is even quieter for being inside a private area. This area is shared by four other small houses and apartments, plus our own apartment. The shared pool works very well, we generally find that even when Tia Maria is almost full in August, different guest groups tend to use the pool at different times, and there are common sense rules about noise late at night etc.   The village of Acequias is idyllic, being sited on the edge of the Sierra Nevada National Park. Nearby there is another larger village Niguelas which has shops and tapas bars and even a cultural centre. To walk to Niguelas is a very pleasant half hour walk which is very scenic and can be undertaken at any time of the day (it is a good path).   Within easy reach of  Acequias is the main Granada-Costa Tropical autovia, though thankfully not near enough to hear it. The convenience of having the motorway nearby, compared to other more remote villages, cannot be overstated. You can get to Spain´s foremost National Monument - the Alhambra Palace and Castle - and the city of Granada in just 25 minutes, and a similar time is all you need to arrive at the beach. Just around the corner from Acequias on the south facing slopes of the Sierra Nevada are the Alpujarra villages whose gateway is Orgiva, which has a colourful market on Thursdays. We could call this 'Driving Over Lemons Country' but we were here before the book!   We look forward to seeing you in the Valley of Lecrin, an idyllic place with lots of cultural events, fiestas and tapas bars, just 30 km south from Granada, and within easy reach of the beach and the Sierra Nevada.
