About the neighbourhood
Cnoclochan is within 5 minutes walk of the village store, which is well-stocked and includes a post office and off licence. The Scourie Hotel next door offers bar and restaurant meals. Also in the village are the outdoor/fishing shop, 24/7 fuel pumps and a GP surgery.
The cottage is right beside the well kept village football pitch and a small play park with swings and other play equipment
Getting around
There is a choice of good local restaurants with the Shorehouse Restaurant at Tarbet just to the north and the Eddrachilles Hotel just south of Scourie. The Scourie Hotel is popular for bar meals and the Scourie campsite runs a restaurant during the summer. The Spice Route, near Kinlochbervie (details in the cottage) produces authentic home cooked ethnic food.

How to get there

Railway: Lairg: 50.0 km
Driving to Scourie is by far the easiest way to access this remote area. People coming from the central belt can expect around a 5 - 6 hour journey (depending on traffic and how often you stop to admire the Highland scenery!). Those traveling from further afield may wish to fly into Inverness Airport and hire a car. Inverness to Scourie takes a little over two hours.
The chip shop in Ullapool is a welcome source of nourishment and heralds the final hour of your journey through some of the most spectacular Highland scenery. Ullapool also has a largish Tesco's.
