Located in the little village of Pendoggett just a short stroll to the village pub and a 5-minute drive to the little hidden sandy bay at Port Gaverne, and the well-known seaside village of Port Issac home of ’Doc Martin’. Lowenek is a modern, detached bungalow, it is light and airy and perfect for a small family, a couple or a single traveller looking for a great location from which to explore this amazing stretch of coastline. Tucked away on the owners grounds with its own enclosed patio garden and view across the fields. The friendly owner lives next door and is a qualified holistic therapist who you could book a treatment with. Just imagine what a totally relaxing break you could take here at Lowenek. With the wood burner in the living room making it really cosy for those short breaks away. Lowenek is situated at the end of a quiet lane, but is only a 2-minute walk to a traditional Cornish pub with a large garden and serving a selection of Cornish ales and traditional pub meals. For those guests feeling a little more energetic there is a lovely walk down through the valley to Port Gaverne, a beautiful little cove ideal for rock pooling. Here you can enjoy wonderful seafood at the local hotel. The nearest shop to the barn is the local supermarket in Port Isaac which is only a 5-minute drive away. Port Isaac also has a bakery and the fish vendors sell locally caught fish, crab and lobster. Just down the road at St Endellion is a wonderful farm shop with a café with stunning views towards Bodmin Moor. Lowenek is perfectly located for visiting the majestic beaches of North Cornwall. The renowned surfing beach at Polzeath and the atmospheric sandy beach at Trebarwith are just a 10-minute drive away. It is also close to the historic towns of Tintagel and Boscastle and only 9 miles from Wadebridge. The market town straddles the river and from here bikes can be hired to cycle the Camel Trail, a car free trail that hugs the estuary for 5 miles to Padstow, a harbour town with an array of craft shops, galleries, cafés and restaurants. North Cornwall is a walker’s paradise. Just a 5-minute drive from Lowenek is the South West Coast Path, and from Port Isaac you can enjoy the stunning coastal scenery on a walk to Port Quin, Polzeath, Tintagel and beyond! Beach 2½ miles.
