18th Century Garden Cottage

Garden Cottage from across the Lake
1 of 9Garden Cottage from across the Lake
Holiday Rental House -
1 Bedroom , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 5
Halfway House, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England
Garden Cottage sits alongside Whitton Hall where the family run a B&B year round. It is a wonderful place for couples who want to escape to the country to relax and enjoy the Shropshire hills and market towns.
Garden Cottage is a spacious holiday home for two but can take a few more on either the sofa bed in the sitting room, or two pullout single beds in the large bedroom.
There is a walled garden which is ideal if you have dogs and guests may walk around the lake and into the woods and make the most of the peaceful surroundings.

This is the second time we have stayed here. It is in a lovely position near Shrewsbury. The self catering cottage has original beams and sloping floors, even its own little walled garden, it is also equipped with all modern conveniences making it a delight...More

Stayed in this quirky old cottage for a lovely long weekend. We were 2 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of space and everything we needed. Beautiful views and a lovely quiet location. Highly recommended.

About the neighbourhood
Situated at the foot of Long Mountain, on the border of Wales, this is an area steeped in history with border castles and views over the Shropshire plain and into Wales. A footpath comes past the Cottage and up over the top of the farm but there are many more walks a short drive away. Shrewsbury is a historic market town well worth exploring and has many independent shops, restaurants and an award-winning food market. Visit Shropshire gardens such a Hodnet and Wollerton Old Hall or cross the border to Powis Castle. Montgomery is a jewel of a market town where you can step back in time and walk up to the castle or have lunch at the Dragon.

After third of a mile turn left opposite oak tree down the drive to Whitton Hall. Garden Cottage is on right adjacent to main house. Parking is on the right, gravelled area next to moat, before Garden Cottage.
