Relax in front of the multi-fuel stove, or dine al fresco on the patio outside this charming cottage which is all on one level, ideal for families, couples & pets, and anyone who may have difficulty with stairs. Garden Cottage is in a peaceful village location and is warm & comfortable with a private enclosed patio, large children's play area and just five minutes walk from a shop & pub.

Garden Cottage (part of 'Town Tenement Farm') is cosy and snug, having recently been renovated with a modern kitchen & wet-room and part double-glazed. There is a large living room with exposed beams, a multi-fuel stove, leather seating and Freeview TV and a dining area with dining table and chairs. There are French doors to a lovely private enclosed patio garden with a passionflower, virginia creeper and a picnic table.

John & Melanie welcome each guest personally and are usually on-site to help you get the very most from your stay (and to feed the birds!). We have lived in the area since 1997 and can advise the best walks, places to visit, restaurants, local attractions, etc. and show you them on an Ordnance Survey map (which you may borrow). We can help light the fire in your cottage, show you how to keep it going, and liaise with local businesses - and we usually have some special offers just for our guests.

Everything was as we would have expected or desired and more Complete with Christmas tree and decorations all tastefully done .Perfection. In a beautiful wooded valley with gravel bedded stream two fords and superb pub five minutes walk away..Real ales and home cooked food. Dogs...More

Challacombe is an ideal base from which to explore Exmoor and the north Devon and Somerset coast - within half-an-hours drive are the wide sandy beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde; the seaside resorts of Instow and Ilfracombe; the charming villages of Lynton and Porlock; the medieval towns of Dulverton and Dunster; scenic attractions Tarr Steps and The Valley of Rocks and the whole of Exmoor, with its amazing scenery and wildlife. With so little light pollution at night, Exmoor National Park was the first Dark Skies Reserve in Europe.

Recommended Directions:

1.From the Aller Cross Roundabout near South Molton on the A361, take the A399 signposted to Ilfracombe & Combe Martin.
2.Continue on the A399 for about 10 miles (past Brayford signposted to the right and Bratton Fleming to the left) and turn right along the B3358 towards Simonsbath.
3.Turn 2nd right after about 2.5 miles, signposted Four Cross Way (about 50 yards BEFORE the Black Venus inn).
4.Exmoor Cottage Holidays at Town Tenement Farm is about 250 yards (3rd five-bar gate) on the right hand side.
