Portreath, Cornwall, England
Adjoining our own property, the comfortable bungalow is situated above the beach and harbour of the historic village of Portreath on the rugged north Cornish coast. There is easy access to the south-west coast path.

Portreath has a convenience store, three pubs and several cafes. Four well-known supermarkets are within ten minutes' drive.

Half an hour's drive takes you to Truro, Newquay, Penzance, St. Ives or Falmouth - or in forty minutes you can be in the Lizard at Britain's most southerly point, enjoying the scenery on the Roseland peninsula, or marvelling at the world-famous Eden Project...

Great location and very quiet. The property is lovely with everything provided, including linen, towels, book and games . We especially liked the conservatory. Nice walk into portreath. We liked the one that went by the donkeys and reindeer. The owners live next door and we’re very helpful. We would definitely stay again at this property.

Management response:

Thank you for a great review. We do try to make "Molly's Nest" a home away from home and give our guests an authentic Cornish experience.

About the neighbourhood
The area is part of a World Heritage Site recognising Cornwall's contribution to mining around the globe. Many mine buildings locally have been restored, to give visitors a flavour of what life was like in the mid nineteenth century when the area was the richest mining area in the world!
Portreath was once the busiest harbour in the county, with coal arriving by ship from South Wales to feed the steam engines powering the mines, with tin and copper being sent in the opposite direction. Heartlands is a local visitor attraction telling the story of mining in the area, and the mass exodus of Cornish miners who were through economic necessity forced to take their skills around the globe to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mexico, Canada and the U.S.A.
