Holiday Rental House
We would live to welcome you to Laigh Isle. A beautiful corner on the Isle of Whithorn, and a5 minutes from the sea. The chalet is bright and airy, tucked away in the top right hand corner as you enter of a small complex. It's private, as nobody really walks past our window, other than to access the chalet. Private garden area (NOT FENCED IN!!). Green area, surrounding the chalet with table and chairs outside on a small patio to the rear, again very private . One double bedroom with a king size bed and built in wardrobes. The second bedroom is small, so we prefer to describe the chalet as best suited to couples or those with a young child. Bathroom was recently modernised with shower over the bath. A very well equipped kitchen: cooker, oven, microwave, fridge freezer, iron etc. Travel cot ...We would live to welcome you to Laigh Isle. Interaction with guests
Guest access Entry to the chalet:- is via a key safe at the back door. Your combination for this will be sent to you before you travel. Please acknowledge receipt! Shopping At the Isle of Whithorn there is a post office and shop is a great resource for milk, papers and cards etc, next door the cafe in the hall serves freshly cooked breakfasts and more but both are open limited hours. Nearby Whithorn has a Costcutter and a few nice cafe's including the visitor centre cafe. We recommend that you bring the groceries etc with you, however there are a Sainsburies a large Co-op and Aldi supermarkets at Newton Stewart, (just a few minutes away from the roundabout where you will turn following Wigtown). Asda will deliver though.

About the neighbourhood
This village is one of the most southerly communities in Scotland; set in a picturesque and unspoilt part of Dumfries and Galloway, rich in history and with strong links to the land and the sea. For years visitors have come to the Isle to for the picture postcard view that has made a fortune for film makers. Designated an outstanding conservation area, the graceful crescent of shore and neat houses makes for a relaxing view whilst enjoying the sunset from the Steam Packet Inn or watching the sea from the harbour itself.
Getting around
We recommend that visitors reserve a table at the Steam Packet prior to arrival, as it can get busy especially at weekends, dogs are accepted in the bar area and the conservatory. The post office and shop is a great resource for milk, papers and cards etc, next door the cafe in the hall serves freshly cooked breakfasts and more but both are open limited hours. Nearby Whithorn has a Costcutter and a few nice cafe's including the visitor centre cafe. Larger supermarkets are at Newton Stewart. Isle of Whithorn, with it's pretty harbour, is the site of the ruins of St. Ninian's Chapel, walk from the harbour passed the memorial to The Solway Harvester, the Tower and pretty coves to the chapel.
