Overview
Holiday Rental House -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 6
Isle of Lismore, Argyll and Bute, Scotland
“Tobar nan Iasgair” means “Well of the fisherman”, for centuries, fishing boats would anchor here to fill up with fresh water. Bill who built the house for himself and his wife Doranne was also a fisherman!
It’s a cosy, spacious family home, with wonderful views across loch Linnhie, Benderloch, Ben Cruachan, the ferry boat and Island comings and goings.
As well as the beds in the bedrooms, there's a fold away bed, a bed settee and a travel cot, a small TV in the sitting room, Wi-Fi and also a well equipped kitchen, a sun porch and a garden area to the front and rear.

Hey Sjoukje, very happy to have you and your family to stay, such a laugh that our Scottish island weather was better than back in Leiden. I hope you get a chance to post some pictures of the house and the lovely island of Lismore....More

About the neighbourhood
The cottage is directly overlooking the ferry terminal, where you can get the Loch Striven straight into the bustling town of Oban. There are 4 ferries a day so it's an easy way to explore the area.
Getting around
Lismore is a small island close to the Town of Oban, there is a direct link via the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry or you can take the other crossing at the North end of the island which takes you to Port Appin. From port Appin via Car it's 35 minutes to Oban or 45 minutes to FortWilliam. 20 minutes to Ballachulish and Glencoe. Both Oban and FortWilliam have a train service running the 'West highland' line running to Glasgow. Also from Fort William there is the 'Harry Potter' steam train crossing the Glenfinnan viaduct to Mallaig.
How to get there
Situated 2 minutes walk from the Oban ferry terminal. Train from Glasgow to Oban...then ferry to the Island...Or drive to Oban and park there and come on the ferry as a passenger..Or bring your car...it's a small island so not really necessary. Oban ferry operated by CalMac check their website for times and prices..Or come by car to Port Appin park there, and take the passenger ferry 8 minutes. I can collect if I'm free.
