Halloween in Salem, MA is unlike any other place. Salem is well known for the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. The homes and buildings are very historic and the architecture is great! It is located near the water and has a great deal of maritime heritage as well. There are a lot of public parks, such as Salem Common and Salem Willows, which has arcades and rides for small children, as well as food and ice cream places and open areas for picnics.
Salem is also home to Salem State College. It is an excellent college with a lot of great improvements. The campus is attractive year round and the professors are very knowledgeable.
But the best is Halloween in Salem. It is scary and fun for the whole family. People travel from all over, just to get the ultimate Halloween experience. Be warned, though: if you try to go on Halloween night, you will not get in. The streets are packed with people in costumes and traffic is at a standstill. You must get to the town by early afternoon. If you do, you will have the time of your life! Most of the historic homes give tours and have haunted houses. These places go all out to give you a scary experience. There are also a ton of bars to go into during the night. And you will see great costumes! The things people come up with and actually create! Pure fun and excitement. You must go to Salem, MA once in your lifetime on Halloween!
