If you get bored of the too-touristy attractions like Times Square and Central Park, take a trip over the East River to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, an awesome neighborhood in New York's other borough. A neighborhood full of Hasidic Jews, Dominicans, Puerto Rican and Italians has recently seen an influx of young artists and musicians making Williamsburg the new 'New East Village'. With tons of music venues and fun bars, Williamsburg is a must-see for the 18-35 traveler. An ideal trip to Williamsburg would be to start the day at McCarren Park the north end of Bedford Ave. (Accessible by taking the 'L' train from Union Square in Manhattan) possibly taking in a free concert, then walking south on Bedford Ave. stopping into the many hip boutiques and coffee shops along the way and finally ending your evening with drinks and dancing at Savalas Bar (Bedford and Grand St), a local, drinker-friendly hangout.
