Sutton is a small village in Quebec just over the U.S. border from Vermont. It is located in the Eastern Townships, an area that was settled by people loyal to the British Crown who left America during the Revolution. It is a wonderful mix of French and English speakers and feels very European. There is a great range of outdoor activities but hiking, cycling and Mont Sutton skiing are especially noteworthy. It also has a very strong cultural heritage with historic buildings and a vibrant community of artists. Before you go you should call the Sutton Tourist Information Office.
If you are coming from the U.S.A. dont forget that you will need to bring a passport or photo ID to get back into the States!
