There are numerous cultural attractions that can be found in and around the city of Fayetteville, which include various museums, a military fort, a number of art galleries, and many historical landmarks and sights.  

            The city of Fayetteville has a history tightly interwoven with war, and the 82nd Airborne Division War Memorial Museum allows visitors to learn more about this part of their past.  Beginning with WW I, and leading through Desert Storm, this museum has over 3,000 artifacts, a large part of which are on display to the public.  Hours of operation are Tuesday though Saturday from 10am to 4:30pm, and closed Sunday and Monday. 

            The Arts Council Center of Fayetteville displays good part of their permanent collection, as well as a range of unique exhibits that periodically come through the center.  Their hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 5pm, and Friday from 8:30am to noon.

            Fayetteville State University , behind The University of North Carolina, is the second oldest University in the state of North Carolina.  Today it is part of the University of North Carolina.
