Heritage Village often gets by passed by visitors to Crystal River. It's a stone's throw off of US19, a major west coast stop and go experience, but few people stop and go appreciate what a small town has to offer adventure travelers. Passing by this historic gem, filled with small retail shops is truly missing what the heart and soul of a small downtown district should represent.
You can do many things in downtown Crystal River in the Village; from buying that specialty gift a grandchild at the Manatee Toy Company, having one of the best Chai Latte's of your life at the Backporch Garden and Tea shoppe, unreal homemade fantastical cupcakes at Cakes and Creations, local artwork showcased at the Mayo Gallery....the list truly goes on and on. A local restaurant, Cafe on the Avenue is part of the cornerstone of the Village along with the recently redone historic cracker house that is home to the Highlander Cafe. A worthwhile stop, rain or shine when visiting the area.
