Active holidays in Croatia are getting more and more popular. Since the main tourist season is from end of June till end of August, active travelers do intend to avoid this time of the year. The best months for hiking and cycling are April, May, June, September and October. For real nature lovers, Gorski kotar area is the best pick in terms of active holidays. This mountain jewel, just one hour from Zagreb and half an hour from the coast, is netted with biking trails through pristine nature.
