What a wonderful place to stay during our very first visit to Montreal! The apartment owners, Marty and Patrice, could not have have been more accommodating - meeting us at the place to welcome us, showing us around the apartment and giving tips on places to buy groceries, get money, pastries, and wine nearby and the nearby restaurants. While we could have taken the metro easily from the apartment via a quick, 5 minute walk to the nearest metro stop, and used the transit cards provided by our hosts, we chose to drive because it was quite cold during our visit. Everything we wanted to see was only about a 15 minute drive away and the owners do rent a space for a car for $15/day. Easy, convenient and with everything we needed, we will definitely be planning another trip back!
From booking to check in. Smooth sailing. Patrice and Martin were available if we had any questions about the rental or the area.
Patrice, the owner has done a great job of accommodating all of us. From getting us the key to having everything set up for us. I cannot complain about anything. The property itself clean, full of character and included everything we need it to be comfortable. The location was fabulous everything within walking distance - metro, shops and restaurants.
The owner was so delightful, and friendly that he made us to feel like we were in our own home. Very safe neighborhood, great place to go out for walks. Thanks Patrice for such a wonderful stay!
I will definitely recommend this place to anyone
This 2 bedroom was lovely, clean, well-equipped and a delight for myself and my family. Having access to the BBQ, private garden and deck off the master was wonderful and allowed us to cook at home when we chose and enjoy evenings and mornings on the deck. Having access to laundry facilities was also helpful with a family of 4. Marty and Patrice were informative, responsive and thoughtful, as evidenced by small touches like providing metro cards to guests and a pantry with some essential (sugar, flour, etc), that made our stay really pleasant. I whole-heartedly recommend staying with them and hope to visit again.
Patrice and Martin's place in the Westmount district of Montreal is just far enough away from the big touristy attractions that you really get a nice break from the crowds, but it is also close enough to make you feel connected to all that is going on in this City of Festivals! The 2 floor apartment was spacious and very comfortable for the 3 of us but it could easily accommodate 5-6. It is stocked with everything we needed to feel at home. There are 2 bedrooms and a living room, w/ futon sofa-bed, upstairs, and a large kitchen, w/ dining space, and bathroom downstairs. A washer / dryer are also downstairs.
The neighborhood is fairly affluent with a few rundown spots here and there. The Atwater Metro Station is only 2 blocks away and is on the Green line which takes you to all the main downtown stations. The Alexis Nihon Mall is above the station and has an IGA open until 10pm each night for all your grocery needs. There are also a couple upscale food stores and nice restaurants in the neighborhood as well.
An easy15 min walk away is the Marche Atwater. A lovely, well stocked, public market that is open every day. It also has food stalls, including the original "Satay Brothers" stand.
The hosts offer parking in their garage (1 car only) for $15 / day. We chose this and never used the car again during our stay. The Uber and public transportation options are very convenient and affordable. Patrice and Martin supplied us with OPUS cards to use on the Metro and Transit systems. We just had to load them with the amounts that met the needs of our stay. The "weekend pass" we used was $13.75 (CAD) and was good from 4pm Friday to the end of the day Sunday. We also hired an UBER from the apt to Parc Mont-Royal to watch the fireworks and it was only $8.
The hosts live in the apt above the rental and were easy to get a hold of when we needed them, which wasn't often. Check in and check out were very easy. We will definitely consider Patrice and Martin's place the next time we visit Montreal.
