This is a lovel hotel with very oldy- worldy cutesy decor on a theatrical theme. The views are absolutely fabulous and the high point of the stay.
The rooms are immaculately clean, very tidy, on the small side but very well decorated and the beds offered a good nights sleep.

Wouldn't rave about the food - the menu consists of 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts and a cheeseboard served as a 7 course meal if you wanted it. The food was good but very little choice.

You need to hire a car to stay here really. Would recommend and would stay here again on next visit to Taby.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I am glad that you liked Såstaholm. As you and other business clients recently have commented on the small number of dishes in our a la carte menue, we will look into this right away.

Spent three days to attend a conference. Former retirement home for actors and each room is named after a former resident. Probably two star rooms but clean and comfortable.

This place is in the country with a nice size lake adjacent. Nice place for a run or just a leisurely walk. Bikes available too.

Food was amazing.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the main building.

In those days when everybody are into storytelling, Såstaholm has a story that every hotel would die to tell! The main building (the mansion) was originally a retirement home for retired Swedish actors - under the name of Höstsol (Autumn Sun). Every inch of this place is theater or old movies. You more or less expect elderly drama queens from the silent movie era to come through the corridors!
Even the bathroom mirrors are of movie star kind, framed by light bulbs.
A bit outside Stockholm (20 minutes by car) you are in a countryside dreamland and a place that has more charm and friendlier service than any 5 star hotel I have stayed in!
Fireplaces and armchairs in the lobby, great bar, nice food (but very short á la carte menu....) and superb breakfast in what feels like a conservatory. And staff that really treat you as a person. Never overdoing it. Just being nice.
This is the kind of place where I would love to retire! Or at least stay for a month while writing that book...
Also - prices are good! Last time I paid about €130 for a single - including breakfast, free wi-fi and parking.

Room Tip: Try to get one in the main building, They're not better, but has a lot of charm!

A cosy hotel in the countryside, with some 90 rooms. The rooms, and conference facilities are found in four differenet buidlings, an old mansion with a couple of annexes.

The hotel has its charm and is rather unique, I would recommend the hotel for conferences without a doubt, but would probably not go for a weekend getaway my self - as I'm a bit more picky about food and wine that what they delivered this time around.

Food is OK - and many of my colleagues were more enthusiastic than I was.

although a bit outside of Stockholm, it's worth the detour. nicely located on a lake - this is Sweden after all - the hotel has a nice outdoor seating area, very fine food, and friendly staff. They helped us to switch rooms after the noisy birthday party on the first night so that the next wedding wouldn't disturb us....
The rooms are small but well furnished; the overall decor is highly original given the history of the place.
