Pleasant, welcoming, patient, friendly staff. Fun and relaxing atmosphere.
One downfall the rooms could of been cleaner.
Other than that we will be back and have recommend.
Thank you all for making my first visit absolutely memorable!

Dont let pictures fool you . we left the next day and went to the occidental . food was crap , dining area was more like a staff lunchroom . They will fine you for everything . the beach was dirty and full of litter. Staff were unfriendly and uncaring. Smoke alarm ripped off our roof . my sisters door to her room wouldnt even close . just a plain dump . If you want high end hotel for a good price . GO TO THE OCCIDENTAL . I have nothing nice to say about the samba . except leaving was the best part of our stay at the samba .

First time staying here, the food was very good most nights at the buffet and the service was excellent, staff is very friendly and helpful and always coming around to make sure you're doing well, and for the price you cant argue.

Not sure why other people have posted that this place is the best....this was not our experience...we have been to PV many times and thought we would try the Samba...Bad decision. we had been up since 345am ...we arrived at the Samba (6 of us ) at 530 pm..because the power had gone out earlier they could not assign us our rooms (which one would think that they are used to power outages and have everything ready for our arrival as other hotels have done in the past)...we thought okay..grab a drink and check out the resort...we were not impressed...pictures dont tell the whole story...the beach loungers are old and tattered the beach was messy from garbage, cups etc not being picked up...we finally got into our room after being told the following from a very aggressive lady at the front desk..if you get a henna tattoo and it gets on the sheets or towels 50.00 fine..if you hang your towels or bathing suits out to dry..50.00 fine ( even though we counted 7 units with stuff hanging to dry). The food was just okay...the main buffet restaurant was just a place to eat. Nothing to get excited about. No ambience at all! We never had anyone come to our table to even offer us water but found the staff was very attentive to the mexicans. While getting settled into our rooms we all noticed the breaker box in our bathrooms...that was weird??? Our room had no smoke detector tv not working ... my sister in laws door did not close unless you really slammed it.. We decided to get out of there and move to the Occidental...Thank you Westjet for your amazing service and not letting us spend one more day at the crappy Samba... Spend some money and update your property and lobby furniture that stunk...first impressions do matter.

A bit of a misunderstanding at check-in was worrying but manager Israel jumped in and made everything right. This is not a luxury hotel, but is well located in Nuevo Vallarta, away from the hustle of the hotel zone, which we preferred. A little extra for a balcony room was well worth it as we could see the ocean, always a treat. The all inclusive plan was great, Lori does great things with eggs at the omelette bar, the fresh veggies and fruit are the highlight of the buffet. Visits to the a la carte restaurant were delicious. The pool area was nice, it was more than a wading depth,the beach attractive. My biggest problem was the all day loud music at the pool area, which dominates the whole hotel. If they could vary the volume and type of music over the course of the day, and limit DJ announcing it would be so much more pleasant. The speakers are high quality but the repetitive, high volume was tough to take. Still, a very clean, well run operation and moderate pricing makes this an attractive holiday destination.

Room Tip: Worth an upgrade to a superior room
