We chose to come to Hemingway for my husbands birthday dinner, despite not having managed to get in on three previous occasions. We were greeted by a stunning blonde (Hemingway the dog)who due to serious fur withdrawal symptoms gave us a really warm feeling on arrival!
We were greeted warmly by the young waiter, by Jaa, who took a rare and treasured family photo of us, and by Tim. A passion for what they do emanates from everyone in the restaurant and the atmosphere is cool and a little funky.
I adore seafood, prawns in particular ,so I ordered,to share ,coconut shrimp and Samui prawns in garlic and pepper. Hubby had the famous chicken pineapple rice and my son the Kung pow chicken. To start we shared chicken sate and spring rolls. The starters were awesome, and the sate knocked all others we have had into a cocked hat !
The prawns, in particular the Samui prawns, were sublime. Totally fresh and perfectly flavoured. The pineapple rice was a delight, and my son gobbled every last bit of the Kung pow!
We enjoyed many cold Changs and left very contented and full. Thank you for a really lovely birthday meal.
