Visited on a Saturday for lunch and overall a good visit. We arrived a little early and this seemed to catch out the team. Not too sure why as there was only one other table. The pub is well decorated and inviting, great food and drink choices. Starter of coronation scotch egg was great, my wife’s Ling was very good and had my fish and chips been a little less greasy I’d have scored it 5 out of 5. Well worth a visits and we’ll be back.

Thank Terry M

We visited for a light lunch, and were pleasantly greated and seated. The barman brought us menus and took our drinks order. When the drinks arrived he took our food order. We all had the ciabatta, two of us rare roast beef, and two a feta cheese and Mediterranean vegetable choice. The ciabattas were light and soft, and just sufficiently toasted. The beef was as described, and tender with no fat or gristle. The other two were described as delicious. Fries were included.
We were all very pleased. The pub is tastefully furnished and decorated, and the toilets clean and attractive.
Highly recommended.

Thank Peter F

We arrived slightly early so when our table wasn't quite ready we decided to have a pre dinner drink in the bar. 30 minutes past and nobody had come to check on us so I went to find a waitress. We then walked by 5 empty tables before arriving at ours.

The good - My roast beef was served pink, tender and was very nice. My Dad's lamb was also very well cooked and enjoyable.

The bad - Apparently my wife's sweet potato and chick pea curry didn't come with rice and consequently was very wet and a rather bland. The saving grace was the onion & fennel bhaji which was tasty. My Mum ordered a salmon & pea pasta dish which was both claggy and devoid of peas.

The ugly - The girls were struggling to find anything they wanted on the menu mainly because the only chicken dish was a whole roast chicken served for two. We did ask if the chicken could be taken off the bone and served as two roast chicken dinners but were told told that this wasn't possible. Who on earth wants to start carving a whole roast chicken at the table?

The waitress did remove the pasta dish off the bill which was a welcome gesture but I doubt we'll bother to come back.

In summary good roast beef & lamb in an otherwise odd menu...

Food is the best for miles and so refreshing to see some interesting menu choices along with some classics. Staff very friendly and efficient. Always feel like they would go above expectations for your enjoyment. Outside seating. Outside furniture not the most comfortable but a sacrifice willing to make
