The owners of the B&B live next door, but were always available to us and the other guests. They made us breakfast and coffee in the morning, offered advice on what to do and see in Monteverde, and even called places for us to book tours (which picked us up from the B&B). The room was small, but we were only there to sleep as there's so much to see in the area! No air conditioning, but it wasn't necessary as the temperature dropped in the evenings (being in the mountains). The town was a 25 minute walk. Closer shops were just up the hill (including restraints). Our room had an ensuite and the water in the shower was warm!

My fiance and I stayed here during our trip around Costa Rica, and we both agree this is a lovely place to have stayed.

Whilst admittedly still under construction, this does not in any way detract from the fabulous hospitality exhibited by the hosts. The room was all wooden construction, the breakfast area was finished to a high degree of quality and the general feel of the hotel was one of artisanship.

Their advice about trips to Monteverde, tours around Monteverde area and our onwards journey to Esterillos was always spot on. They very kindly provide laundry service for our clothes (which needed a good wash after a hike around Arenal the previous days!).

There is a very useful local bus to Monteverde Park from the bottom of their driveway and a lovely secluded waterfall right opposite their property.

I would gladly recommend this hotel, albeit with the caveat that it is partially under construction.

Thanks to the owner we have had a great time in Monteverde!
Perfect arrangement of pick up from precious location and excellent advise for activities (including help in booking them, and arranging pick ups).
The house in construction becomes a plus for which we are happy to contribute somehow by staying there. This is a lot of work for a courageous family who are truly friendly! I would definitely come back there if Life brings me back to Monte Verde!

This place is a nice and authentic house on the edge of the Monteverde forests. It hasn't been built for that long and isn't finished, but is really nice to stay at already. The interior is nearly completely made out of wood and the rooms are very clean. Tarcisio and his wife go out of their way to help you. He made sure I found where his B&B was, helped us with activities and even our further transportation. There is a breakfast every morning which was enough to get me going until around noon. When it will be finished, it will be one of the best places to stay near Santa Elena for sure.

The hosts are very friendly and go above and beyond to help you. This included local tips and advice, booking activities and even onward travel. They were exceptionally helpful. The location is good too, quiet and away from the main town, walking distance to national parks and nearby restaurants. There is a bus that stops at the end of the road that takes you directly to monteverde cloud forest reserve too, we didn't have a car and didn't find this to be a problem. The breakfast was good and the rooms comfortable with hot water. It was a perfect choice for us and very good value for money.
