OK, we chose this resort based on the reviews. On arrival we were quite disappointed. Arrived around 9pm, so before taking our room we rushed to the restaurant. Was not a great impression.... after fighting with the receptionists (night staff not very accommodating) we got a suitable room... Next morning things started getting better. We were located in the new building "G", The rooms in the other blocks are on the level of a 2-3 star hotel. In building G the rooms are nice, lovely balcony, but the walls are very thing, especially in the bathroom, I could hear the guy next door ... Anyway, we still had a good time with compromises. Air-con was great, shower pressure good and plenty of hot water all the time. The restaurant in this block was not open, the bar was and it was nice and quiet. We had to walk down to other blocks' restaurants for dinner, usually by block D. Lovely and healthy food choices. The wine is also nice, the beer is sweet sometimes.
Well, I am very much of a cat person, so for me seeing the cat houses was a lovely addition. There are 3 cat houses, always fresh water and dry cat food outside. The guests are allowed to feed the cats also. They are no trouble, at all and do not bother anybody who does not want to make friends with them. One night we found this ill cat, was dribbling and could not eat. We took the time to shred to food for her and wash her with warm chamomile tea and soon she started getting better. I managed to get in touch with a local cat charity and I am hoping the cat will be taken to the vet as she can only eat shredded food. So if you are walking around that area between 7.30pm-9pm, please, feed her with very soft food :) We named her Flossy (white cat with some tiger spots).
Anyway, if you have problems with the wifi (which we did), go to guest relations and they will set or re-set your devices for you.
I found most of the staff very accommodating and really going out of their way to make you happy (day receptionists, especially Kornelia, the manager for guest relation Yesim and the restaurant managers). But there some young ones, who just do their jobs like robots...
The sea was great! I don't remember swimming so much on any other holidays. The waves are easy and the beach is sandy and kept clean.
We took the local bus to Alanya (about 25 minutes, but stop just outside of the hotel on main road, buses in every 15 minutes or so), walked to the harbor, had a lovely 1 hour boat tour on the Red Pirate, which was a small boat, but they are so much fun, tell you so much history as you go along, spot you turtles and just generally very friendly, also have a small puppy on board. I would use them again!
We felt really safe and went on exploring.
Well, this is mostly a family resort. Like a small village, you have an ice cream place, 3 flavors a day, very nice. A melon/fruit place, with fresh fruits, a small petting zoo, several pools, so even if you are without children you can find a quiet place for yourself.
Do book the a la cart restaurant on your first day, it gets busy. I loved the food there.
We had fun, I hope, you will too!
