We stayed 3 nights. The only impressive thing is the view (through dirty windows) and the proximity to the beach. Here’s the real info:
- the key is located a 20 minute drive away from the property and you won’t learn the until after you book and pay. That sucks.
- the garage is hard to find ( it’s on Notts St) and instructions or a map was not provided with the key. We had to keep pressing the garage opener until one of the garages along Notts St opened.
- the building is very old and tired. The studio is on the 5th floor (you have to hunt for that too as you will have no idea where unit 40 is).
— the studio has only two windows that open just a few inches so it is super stuffy and stale air. The floor fan is necessary but it would be nicer to get some screens on the windows for them to open properly.
— the accommodation states 4 people. The futon couch is only big enough for 1 person and is super uncomfortable. The studio is a 2 person place.
— the TV turns on but there is no reception. The note said not to touch the antenna but even when we tried to fix it the TV didn’t work. Bring DVDs or just live without TV during your stay.
— you must have 3 minute shower only. A note said that it only has enough hot water for one shower.
— there are bugs and spiders everywhere. They scatter when you open the cupboard or turn on the light. We had to kill a Huntsman spider that probably crawled in through the kitchen window with no fly screen.
— there is no oven. The stove is portable and takes a while to cook stuff. A big electric skillet would be a handy addition.
Overall it did the job for our short stay but we wouldn’t stay again. It is a very inconvenient place and there is no fresh air.
Upon arrival hardly any information was provided. This is a backpacker's accommodation at elevated family prices.
