My second visit to the hotel after 4 years. Some improvements have been made. The extended restaurant is a lot better, and it was nice to have wine and water on the table, instead of running to boxes. The food was wide ranging, although there was a temperature issue at times for me. Best ice cream I have had in a hotel.

My room was over the bar which caused problems for me with noise on some nights. However it was large and comfortable, (apart from the pillows), with more English channels on the TV. Tea/coffee making facilities which was great, and a nice terrace, although I did get invaded by swifts on a couple of evenings! The bathrooms seriously need updating, although they were kept very clean. The baths are far too deep, which for a generally older clientele could cause serious difficulties. I am glad that I took my bath mat with me.

Staff were generally cheerful and very hard working. The bar is more than adequate, with BIG drinks measures. The animation team were young and fun.

The beach is wonderful, and certainly well used.

Thank you to all the staff at the hotel. You make a great team.

Used the hotel as part of package with Jet 2 Holidays, booked a sea view room which was excellent.Hotel location overlooking sandy beach with direct access could not be bettered. Room was good and comfortable.Had all inclusive package and quality of food and drink quite good.Entertainment at night was generally good apart from Karaoke night, day time activities were available if required. On edge of nature park so plenty of wildlife to watch.Hotel used by mix of nationalities with high proportion of Spanish guests which was a pleasant change as able to see their culture and music. If using package would not advise using Jet 2 as no representative on site and thus poor service.

I spent a week at this hotel on an all-inclusive basis. The communal areas are absolutely beautiful, although some of the rooms could do with updating. The dining area is very well appointed, and there was a huge choice of food at every mealtime. However, if you are vegetarian (as I am), you may be eating much the same things every day. If you are vegan or gluten intolerant, you might need to make other arrangements. The pool is stunning, plenty of sun loungers were available when I visited at the end of September, and the beautiful beach is just a short stroll away from the pool along a boardwalk. I would stay there again.

Stayed here as an all inclusive deal through Thomas Cook and thought it was great! Our room was big and spacious, it was clean and even had air con. The food at mealtimes was never ending and really tasty. The time of year we went meant it was quite busy and there weren’t always chairs around the pool available. However, the beach is literally a minutes walk away which is lovely! Staff on reception could have been friendlier but staff elsewhere in the hotel were very attentive and welcoming. Would recommend staying here if you want a relaxing hotel holiday.

We stayed in the hotel for 8 days in September (we're an Irish middle aged couple travelling on a solo holiday). It's a wonderful location right on a magnificent beach but the hotel itself is tired. Perhaps, it is aiming at a specific market (elderly English Saga clients) and may be fine for them but to solo travellers it was just an ok experience. The buffet restaurant was chaotiic during mealtimes (we were half board and used it mainly for lunch). Breakfast was good with the unusual surprise of fresh orange juice on tap. However, this pleasure was negated by the long queues for coffee / tea.The food for the other meals was bland and tepid. Probably standard buffet fare in hotels but unfortunately there wasn't any other option. The a la carte restaurant was closed. The pool surrounds are very good and I can't comment on the wellness facilities as we didn't use them.Punta Umbria is an unusual town insofar as it's totally Spanish but there is no connection between the hotel and the community. Questions at reception about local buses, restaurants, suggestions were met with blank looks. The entertainment was most definitely aimed at the Saga guests (bingo, karaoke etc). So, no it's not a hotel for a drink in relaxed sophisticated surroundings late at night. We have stayed several times in the past and we were surprised to find that the rooms haven't been renovated...they need them at this stage. It's a clean hotel but definitely showing its age.I'm not sure where its trying to position itself as a hotel; Saga guests on all inclusive holidays or be a more general holiday hotel.Somebody there needs to do some marketing!
