We (our family of four) travelled from New Zealand to be in Oudenaarde as a base for some cycle racing in the region.
The house was a recent brand new renovation which was very nicely done mixing old original with stylish new. Both sound and heat insulation shut the world out when we wanted peace and quiet or let nature in by opening the big triple glazed doors to hear chirping birds and enjoy fresh breezes of summer air through the house.
We were a peaceful 6 or 7 minute stroll from a great and affordable supermarket and despite being near the old town centre with lots of great restaurants to choose from, we did most our cooking at ‘home’.
Long walks and some bike rides ensured we were able to experience the peaceful and tranquil area and all the history of the beautiful town while our son wave away racing and training during our two week stay.
Beds were comfortable, shower great, toilet a teeny bit tight for space but then again My husband is 2m tall.
Our hosts were exceptionally generous with their time and advice on the area and supplied us with their personal bike rental passes to use during our stay and even picked us up from the train station when we first arrived! Sadly they went on a holiday of their own otherwise it would have been nice to have shared a dinner with them.
We would love to come back again!!
Booked well in advance with absolute ease and simplicity.
Booked in dead on time as suggested, a very warm welcome from our hosts, Marc & Martine who went through the workings of the very well presented and equipped apartment.
Everything we needed and more was available.
Very comfortable accommodation with a lovely garden, and only 5 minutes from the City centre with free on and off road parking.
Highly recommended, we will be back.
