Camping in the desert is a experience to remember !A camel ride through the dunes to arrive at the camp - greeted by sweet mint tea and other pastries. The rooms are clean and have every comfort you can think of - berber rugs on the floor, comfortable beds with thick woollen blankets for extra warmth in the desert night . The dinner was great with warm soup and tagine. The breakfast spread didnot lack for variety but was so so. The staff managing the camp were friendly and caring. They even cater for vegetarians. The only minor complaint would be the lack of plug-points in the room - apparently people were blowing out generators using their hair dryers despite being told not to and hence all the plug points are located centrally in the restaurant. All in all a wonderful experience

There are still a few things we NEVER would have thought we would have been able to say, but we can cross "We camped in a tent in the Sahara Desert" off our list.

All we can say was the experience was beyond all our expectations from the camel ride to the camp, to the food and entertainment, to the actual accommodations.

The camel ride catered to us rank amateurs and was led by an qualified wrangler. We stopped partway through the trip when the wrangler offered to take pictures on our cameras for us. Nice touch. At the end of the trip, he had some overpriced momentoes for sale to "help the camels" How could we resist?

We were greeted at the campsite entrance by some of our hosts offering us water and towels for rinsing our hands off after our ride. We were then led to our tent for the night and allowed to freshen up in the surprisingly modern facilities. No worries there.

After that we were invited to gather round the campfire to re-live our recent adventures or to head to the dining tent.

Once seated in the dining tent we were served a very nice meal to finish off the day. Of course, mint tea was served during the evenings entertainment. My favorite part was when the host offered to teach me how to properly arrange my turban. Once the festivities were concluded for the evening, we headed for our tent and to bed.

At first, we were a little apprehensive about the cool weather and staying warm in the tent under what looked like light blankets, but it turned out they were very warm after all. It was so warm a d cozy we missed the call to see the sunrise the next morning.
One thing we were not anticipating was how DARK and QUIET it was once the sun went down. A flashlight would be helpful for those night visits.

In the morning, breakfast was served and we were off to further adventures.

Would we do it again? You better believe it, the next time we are in the Sahara Desert! This is a MUST DO!

I was there last summer and the experience was above and beyond my imagination. The tent with its comfortable bedding, flushing toilet, hot running water, one can almost forget that you are in the midst of Sahara Desert! Food was wonderful and Hassan and everyone working at the camp were friendly, professional, and very accommodating to all our needs. Definitely recommend this camp to anyone traveling to Erg Chebbi!

First of all, let me say that everything was over our expectations; Simply perfect! Deluxe tent were comfy, modern looking and bathroom were awesome with hot water shower! The staff is polite, class and respectful with guests. The food is amazing, considering that you are in the middle of the desert (honestly one of the best food we had in Morocco). We strongly recommend this place for couple and family but this place tend to be a peaceful and quiet place ;)

Easily FIVE STAR

There are several places that offer tent stays in that area so you have choices. These tents are a lot nicer than most because they offer full bathrooms and very nice interiors. Well decorated and new. Service was great and everything was handled perfectly. Don't hesitate to choose this place.
One thing to keep in mind though is that tents flap and if the wind is blowing you're not going to get much sleep. It happened that the night we were there the wind was howling but not their fault.
Recommended!
