“Beautiful gite with lovely owners”
Reviewed 25 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Le Cep is a lovely spacious apartment with beautiful views over the forest. It's only 15 minutes into the centre of Bergerac but is incredibly peaceful (apart from the braying of the donkey in the next field!). We all loved the pool, especially our daughters who spent every available minute in it. David & Lydie were excellent hosts and dealt with any issues we had immediately. I would definitely recommend Le Cep to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the Dordogne. Thanks for the jam Lydie, it's delicious!

“Friendly, relaxing....perfect”
Reviewed 23 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We rented the gite for our family of 4 during August but wanted a slightly longer stay so we combined it with a 3 days stay in one of the B&B rooms on site giving us a 10 day holiday in all.

The setting is beautiful and spacious and the standard of the B&B rooms and the gite is really high - feels like a boutique hotel. Lydie and David bought the place 1.5 years ago and have renovated it and you can see the attention to detail in everything they have done.
The B&B rooms were very comfortable. We had two rooms which slept 4 of us plus a large en suite. The breakfast is generous with homemade jam as well as croissants, meats & cheese, cereal and Lydie's homemade cake. B&B guests can also store some food in the fridge which means you can use the shady tables in the gardens for picnics. There is a large lounge area available with TV and wifi for B&B guests and you can make full use of the spacious pool area.

The gite for 4 is really spacious with a large lounge area, private terrace with and eating table and comfy seats, a fully equip kitchen and good sized bedrooms.

Lydie and David could not have been more friendly or helpful. They were on hand whenever we needed to offer advice about where to go or help us out. They really add to the atmosphere of the place. I would really recommend this as a holiday destination - especially as there is so much to do nearby and it is only 10 mins from the beautiful town of Bergerac,

“A wonderful, large, well located Gite”
Reviewed 24 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed with two friends after originally booking it for our sole use and what a decision that turned out to be! This gite is massive and we would have been rattling around it on our own. The owners David and Lydie made us very welcome with a warm greeting and spoke excellent english which put us at ease immediately. The gite was very well equipped including fast broadband and english sattelite tv. The patio was lovely to sit on and talk and sip the local vino. David was very kind in booking restaurants for us and one we must recommend is Le Presbertere in the local village of Creysac which is a Michelin star with food to die for and very reasonably priced( tip- do not eat too much soup to start with as you will be too full to enjoy the rest of the feast!) The setting of the gite was lovely and we were only sad that the weather prevented us from using the swimming pool and jacuzzi. An all round lovely place and thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

“Special place in French countryside”
Reviewed 2 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed at David and Lydies place for a week catching up with friends from the UK and it is a great place to stay with excellent hosts who were able to accommodate an early arrival and later departure without extra charges. The hosts were always available if needed as they live in another property on site - but were never intrusive.
The rooms are spacious and lovingly restored with p,entry of space for two couples .
Although there is only one bathroom / separate toilet - it is conveniently located between the two upstairs bedrooms. The pictures on website are all accurate and there are additional facilities for guests to use such as pétanque , table tennis , pool and spa ( minor charge for) etc .
Good washing facilities too if you need them.
You do need a car but these are available at local airport quite cheaply . Take out insurance cover though as French driving can be challenging ! David was very helpful in contacting a driver who had run into the back of us !
Great markets in nearby towns such as Issigeac, Bergerac

Liked best: Large accommodation with good facilities and helpful hosts . No wifi but offer of USB if you had suitable equipment to access internet
Liked least: Small shower and curtain / reduced head height in bathroom - but it's a converted premise so to be expected.
