This lovely restaurant is so popular with locals it is best to make a reservation. Having been there numerous times, I find The Wild Canary continues to have a variety of interesting meals, yummy deserts, good coffee, tea and of course, the accompanying wine if you wish. You feel like you are in the bush and can sit both inside with a/c or outside under cover, with every view a lovely bush/garden setting. Enter and exit through its nice nursery and you can buy some lovely plants when you leave for home. It is now one of the first restaurants in our area to be suggested by varied friends and several social groups and I can say we haven't been disappointed when we have enjoyed either morning teas or lovely lunch. Get there early for your dining experience, because parking is a little bit of a problem- that's because it is so popular as both a restaurant and nursery. Find it on line, but you should phone for a reservation!

This eatery is part of and adjacent to a comprehensive nursery, and the setting is beautiful.

We have recently been spending more and more time here for morning coffee and cake and or lunch.

There is a good selection of excellent cakes and or breakfast fare to match their delicious coffee. The lunch menu is similarly tempting.

Staff are very helpful, presentation is excellent.

The outside area is also dog friendly.

Best eatery in this part of Brisbane.

We eat out a lot however I rarely leave reviews as our dining experiences, whilst usually pleasant enough, are rarely anything special; so what a find Wild Canary proved to be.

We were cheeky enough to call in on a weekend without a reservation however this was not a problem for the cheerful young lady who greeted us (even though the restaurant was very busy).
She even managed to seat us outside under shady mature trees where we could enjoy the perfume of the flowers wafting through from the nursery (it is situated within the grounds of the nursery).

The menu displayed a variety of dishes which made good use of the produce in season with some interesting flavour combinations. We choose the seafood special of the day - Mullaway with fresh water crayfish paired with asparagus and peas with a most exquisite dressing; absolutely delightful. Several wines were available by the glass which complemented the dish perfectly.

It is obvious that the owner/chef has a good relationship with the local producers as they were hosting a luncheon where some of their producers would be in attendance. It's great to see small producers supported by local restaurants.

So often we have great food with ordinary service or vice versa which usually means overall an average experience. Wild Canary have achieved the ultimate in hospitality - great service and excellent food at reasonable prices. We will return even though we live a few hours away, it will be worth the drive and they deserve our patronage. We promise to book though : )

The Wild Canary is conveniently located within the grounds of the Brookfield Garden Centre. On arrival you will walk through the nursery and then onto the walking path that traverses the vegetable gardens and lawn. Today we were greeted by friendly staff that directed us to our table on the veranda overlooking the gardens and trees. The restaurant is located in a tastefully renovated former house. The venue was surprisingly tranquil despite the busy nearby Moggill Road. For our breakfast we ordered two chocolate pancakes with delicious strawberries, cream and ice-cream and four "Gardner's Breakfasts" which included delicious ham, eggs, sourdough bread, garden salad, feta cheese, sun dried tomato and a pork and fennel sausage. The non alcoholic drinks menu was varied. The restaurant is supplied by local producers such as Adams Small goods (which I feel produces the best European small goods in the western suburbs). After this morning's experience we've already decided to make a return visit. - and it could easily become a favourite dining venue for me. I would definitely recommend the "Wild Canary" as a dining venue to others. Today we attended the restaurant as a family of six, that included four hungry teenagers. We were all full by the time breakfast was completed with the meal and drinks costing on average about $26 each. The restaurant is really located in Brookfield (not Kenmore) opposite the Rafting Ground Park Reserve. The restaurant has a nearby bus stop serviced by the "444 Moggill BUZ", with buses operating 7 days a week with a minimum 15 minute frequency during restaurant hours. There is ample parking within this easy to locate venue.
