This hotel is in Zarautz. We were really lucky that we were able to walk in on the day and get a room. We had just completed the stage of the Camino from San Sebastian to Zarautz and decided that we wanted to treat ourselves.

We were really glad we were able to stay at this hotel. It isn't the most modern hotel I have ever been to but it was clean and functional and the bed was comfy. The location simply couldn't be faulted as it is right on the beachfront.

We ate in the restaurant and went for the tasting menu. This was good value and we loved the food. The staff were really friendly and I think because we stayed in the hotel we got one of the best tables, right next to the window looking out onto the beach. We enjoyed the sunset and watching the surfers until the sun went down.

The breakfast the next day was also very good. The only downside was that they clearly struggled to make me poached eggs...I would chose a different type of egg next time! Aside from that the breakfast was delicious and they clearly use really good fresh ingredients.

We would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you can get a room with a view of the sea that is the best option.

We booked a 2 night stay that included the tasting menu. Beautiful beach front room with a large deck. Parking right outside the entrance. Very nice staff. I didn't think the tasting menu was as good as some others I've had, but I would still recommend it. Just an overall wonderful experience.

Excellent location in front of the sea made having breakfast and dinner in the restaurant a pleasure specially if you order a "Torrija" for dessert, the best one I have ever eaten. Room was small with a bit too clasic decoration and a correct renovated bathroom. Be aware there is not a lift.

This is a Basque classic Hotel right on the ocean. The building is 16th Century, but the interior is elegant and modern, updated with beautiful wood flooring and walkout doors to a terrace overlooking the ocean and along the wide coastline. We had room 108 and the waves lull you to sleep. The room rate was 160 euros, breakfast is included with free parking if needed, free wifi, all with excellent service. The dinner special offered nightly usually includes 6 courses, well prepared for approximately 22 euros. The cafe and restaurant are on the beach, below the rooms and open morning thru evening. This is a real gem. . However, as everywhere else in Spain, smoking can be a problem in the restaurant, but the rooms are free of smoke.
