The pond barn, started a new carvery last weekend ,went along on Sunday, was a lovely atmosphere in the bar, with the football on the TV mainly men in the bar,but still had a good family atmosphere, had a couple of drinks, then went through to the restaurant for the carvery,on offer were three meats roast rib of beef, turkey, and honey roasted gammon, and lovely big crunchie potatoes with a good selection of veg and gravy
I must say that it was absolutely beautiful, with top marks to the two new chefs, only disappointment was that they hadn't made enough crumble for afters,so just need to get the deserts right, may be Bakewell tart, and sticky toffee puddings, but need more selection, and not to charge extra for icecream or custard when the deserts were already priced at 4.95,

We drove from Southampton to Selsey to view a holiday cottage and then visited the Pond Barn at Bracklesham for Sunday dinner and and to play pool and to watch the footy on Sky Sports with our teenage son.

There was a good choice of meats on offer which come with all the usual trimmings. Our dinner arrived very quickly and was very hot. Hubby had pork loin, our son had the chicken and I went for the beef and all were lovely and tender. Lots of lovely gravy and vegetables which were served in a separate dish and were cooked just the way we liked it (not underdone and wasn't soggy either), even had parsnips which were beautiful and so were the roast potatoes. Could not fault the dinner nor the service, the waitresses were very polite and were more than happy to serve us
After dinner we moved to the bar area and played pool until the footy started and then had our pudding whilst watching the footy. The owner and barman were both friendly and the locals also made us feel welcome even though they were supporting the opposition.

The Pond Barn is a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon and we will definitely be returning in July when we stay in nearby Selsey for a week; we are going to try their evening menu and soak up the atmosphere.

Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

Great place for a quiet Sunday lunch. Super food and super surroundings. Also great value for money. The service was quick and friendly and food arrived nice and hot and well presented. We were not rushed or bothered whilst we enjoyed our meal. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends
