Friends we were visiting made the reservation "at a local place we quite like." And we enjoyed the meal. We entered through a Middle Eastern grocery and were quickly seated. The server was well-prepared to answer our question and explain options. The dishes were varied and filling -- from the shawarma wrap to the sampler to the chef's special (a braised chicken breast in a peppy spiced sauce with a staggering serving of couscous. The pickled beet salad (one of several sides from which to choose) nicely offset the heavier corn meal. The white house wine was a little disappointing, although the portion was ample. By and large, a pleasant evening in a vibrant surrounding.
