It is without question the most impressive building in the Collingwood Abbotsford area and is now part of the City of Yarra and serves as a secondary building for that council.

Worked at Collingwood PS as OC for many years located at rear of Town Hall part of this glorious building. The building is a classical old stylish building worth a visit. Next to the Collingwood Railway Station. Both aspects historical listing by the State Government. Beautiful hall can be used for weddings and other events..

The Collingwood Town was built at the turn of the 20th century when Melbourne's inner city suburbs were competing to be the biggest and the brightest. The Collingwood Town Hall is said to be one of the best of its type in Australia. Collingwood Town Hall is now part of the City of Yarra, which combined old rivals Fitzroy, Richmond and Collingwood, plus part of North Carlton.. The Town Hall now functions as a secondary office for the City of Yarra. Drop in if you are going by. Collingwood features as 'Carringbush' in Frank Hardy's epic novel of skulduggery in inner city Melbourne 'Power Without Glory.'

This iconic hall in the heart of Collingwood was built between 1885 and 1890 in the Second Empire style which is rich in detail and prominent mansard roofs and pyramid domes. It is widely considered one of the finest Town Halls in Australia, and, along with the Sydney Town Hall and South Melbourne Town Hall, one of the best example of the style in Australia.
Fire destroyed the interiors in the 1920s, which were significantly remodelled at the time in an Art Deco style.
Collingwood Town Hall is now used for special functions and as an exhibition space.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Parking can be so so. Toilets are clean.

Had a wedding reception here.
Lovely building, once we managed to work out how to get in. As doors were locked.
The catering was provided by a private company with no attachments to the hall.
I can definitely recommend this place for functions though.
Large room.
Clean bathrooms etc.
Good position.
