When you arrive, you are taken away to the 18th century as the Chantore brings you to grace, charm and hospitality! We plan to go back to celebrate this find in 2018 and enjoy the peace and friendship with great hosts! This is a bucket list place, hurry to it but don’t share too much ;)

Not so much a bed and breakfast as a labor of love. The owners have restored the Chateux to its former glory. It is like taking a trip back to the 18th century and every detail of the experience has clearly been thought about very carefully. The breakfasts were memorable. In particular, the honey, apple juice and eggs from the Chateux grounds were quite tasty. The owners also recommended some excellent restaurants and are the ones to consult about what Chateuxs to see in France. A truly unique experience.

The minute we drove through the small path and the Chateau emerged in front of us was breathtaking, and that was just the beginning of the awe-inspiring experience to come during our stay. We spent one night in the Baroque room, whose walls were opulently upholstered in red fabric. Bernard, the Chateau owner and our host, surely took great care in decorating the room, and the whole place. The attention to detail was impressive. The quality of the amenities was even better than some five star hotels. Breakfast was served in the marvelous dining room and everything was top-notched - the apple juice from the Chateau's orchard, the signature eggs, Dammann tea, organic dairy products from a local farm, all served in beautiful tableware and cutlery by the attentive host himself. We've been to some five-six stars hotels but Chateau de Chantore was in another league. It was quite a drive to get there but we would love to have a chance to stay there again.

We found this on Google looking for accommodation near Mont St Michel on our way to the ferry. We could not believe our luck and our 6 year olds thought it must be Hogwarts. The whole experience from driving up the driveway, to being shown our beautiful room, to marvelling at the restoration and admiring the gardens was perfect.

Then there was breakfast and a discussion about home grown Spring honey being served as opposed to Summer honey. All of breakfast apart from the yogurt seemed to be from the grounds.

The hosts were charming, helpful and informative and spoke perfect English.

In simple terms we would go out of our way to stay here again and I can't think of many places I would say that about.

Without doubt the best hotel stay that I've ever experienced. The chateau and grounds are absolutely beautiful. Our suite was exquisite and had a view of Mont St Michel. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by our hosts and the attention to detail was excellent. We would recommend the Chateau de Chantore without hesitation.
