Something we had planned to do a while ago and finally got around to it. Well worth the visit and was great to have a really informative talk about the history of the area and the exhibits.
We didn’t have children with us but there are activities for them to do as well inside. The majority of the site is outside and there is parking on site.
If coming by boat suggest mooring on the 24 hour quiet mooring between Potter Heigham and the Repps staithe and then taking the short walk along the river behind the bungalows. Check the website for opening as it isn’t open every day.
A welcome cup of coffee with biscuits rounded off our visit.
We look forward to returning when more of the exhibits are restored and running.
Thank you for your review it is much appreciated - sorry for the delayed response ! We are so glad that you enjoyed your visit as our customer experience is very important to us. We have achieved a lot more of the restoration projects throughout the summer and our Wallis Titt wind engine that was laying on the floor is now up in all its glory and a full set of sails! - Hope to see you again and many thanks
Visited here today with my family, it was a great visit, only small but the staff are so enthusiastic and it gives you a great insight into wind power and how the Norfolk Broads depended on wind pumping to drain the water away.
A lovely non commercial museum with a nice little tea room.
Thank you very much for your kind remarks. We are so glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you come back to see us.
It was so nice ro see the mills working and be able to speak to the people who maintain them to learn how they work and their history. There is a room for children to make models and a tea room. Worth taking the family.
Thank you very much for leaving such a lovely review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your visit. Hope to see you again
A fascinating place unique in my experience
If you are interested in wind energy this is the place to go
Thank you for leaving us a review it is greatly appreciated
Very interesting collection of wind powered machinery displayed in a good area. The collection has been arranged by a dedicated team of volunteers and the guide is a font of knowledge on the subject. Teas and coffees along with a biscuit are available. Wel worth a visit.
Run by Deborah and her team of enthusiastic eccentrics, this place deserves to be overrun with visitors, such are their knowledge and enthusiasm. Well worth the walk from the river. Just don't trust the signs which say it's closed. It probably isn't!
Thank you very much for your lovely review...,,all true, signage isn’t our strong point!!! But next year it will be spot on....I hope
