Owner description: This was once the summer retreat of Tipu Sultan. It’s a good place for hiking and birding. The hill also has temples dating back to the Chola period. It gets extremely crowded on weekends. The hills offer great views of the surroundings, though.

This place is easy to reach. One must go early morning, should reach before sun rise or else the travelling to this place will be in vain. Avoid weekend if possible and ladies to wear comfortable shoes, should carry or wear a jacket for sure. Expect 500-1000 people with vehicles there. Reaching to the top will take you extra 10-20 mins so plan according. If taking four wheeler, you may directly go up near to the point, one guy will be collecting 100 Rs to entry & parking up however parking is a pain there. Two wheeler can be parked and left below, may be chargeable again however keep extra time since i saw a big line of people for entry which is walk able after your vehicle is left. small shops are there and on the way restaurants are available. If you are looking for good place to have breakfast after the visit, look for INDIAN PARATHA COMPANY OR NH7 which are next to each other. If you are lucky or if on weekend you may see a rally of best of bikes on those roads.

It is just 40 KM from Bengaluru. Once you come out of Bengaluru city the roads are very nice to reach Nandi Hills. Beware of Monkeys on the road. It is nice family picnic spot near Bengaluru

Nandi Hills gives a amazing view from the top. Inhale some fresh air away from the city's busy and polluted life. We went on Saturday so it was very crowdy and there was long queue for entry ticket. So try to visit on weekdays to avoid queue and parking problem. Rest everything is good.

If you want to have a great experience of Sunrise then this is a must go place. Try to be there at 5-5:30 am as it will take time to park your vehicle and then to be at that place from where you will get a very beautiful experience. This place is good for picnic as well. One restaurant for food. if you want you can carry your food as well along with mate so that you can sit and spend your holiday. There is one temple of lord shiva as well. Be aware of monkey. There are 2 parking one is outside and second is inside the nandi hills. Better to park your car inside if elder persons are with you.

if you are looking for a morning place near Bangalore then Nandi Hills is your place. Close to an hour drive from Bangalore through beautiful curvy roads, although you need to plan your reach by 4.30am because sometimes police barricade this road to check vehicle documents because of which the traffic accumulate and might delay your sun rise. Also, do not miss to explore the hill and enjoy its refreshing tea from the stall.
