My wife and I were looking for a quiet place to escape from Buenos Aires for a few days, and also a place where we could practice Ashtanga yoga. Studio Hjem in Punta Rubia was ideal. There are four studios. Our unit had a lovely open floor plan and the beautiful wooden floor was spacious enough for two people to practice comfortably with a nice view of the ocean in the distance. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed for basic meals, and the bathroom even had a small bathtub. We loved sitting quietly on the front porch watching the sunrise over the ocean. They have a no-shoes-inside-the-unit policy which keeps the floors super clean. There is also a solid, basic, internet connection which allows for email checks and such, but not high speed use.
It is about a ten minute walk to the beach, and the little general store is about five minutes away. La Pedrera has some good restaurants and it is about twenty minutes away, walking on the beach. We didn’t have a car and we didn’t feel that we needed one (although perhaps it would be nice to explore further away).
Patricia, one of the owners, was extremely accommodating, friendly, and helpful, even picking us up and dropping us off at the bus terminal. In fact, everyone we met in Punta Rubia and La Pedrera was great. Even the dogs were friendly.
A nice little yoga shala is about ten minutes away which offers M/W/F led Hatha classes. Patricia practices and can give you the details.
