This was our first trip to Flachau and it won't be our last.
We found the apartment excellent, exactly as the description and it was more than ample for ourselves and our 2 children. We found it very clean (I have high standards), well equipped and perfectly situated. The pool and sauna were an added bonus and they too were immaculate. The resort is excellent for a summer activity holiday and we will definitely return, to try out the skiing next time hopefully in this apartment if available.

This is our first skiing holiday with the kids aged 6 and 8 and Flachau was recommended as being great skiing, child friendly and good value. It certainly lived up to all of these. We flew with Easyjet to Munich and hired a car - the drive to Flachau very easy and straightforward. The apartment is located 3 mins by car from the main gondola (Achterjet) and there is plenty of parking. The apartment was comfortable with all the basics - a twin room and main kitchen/dining/living area with a large double sofa bed. The kids slept in the twin room and we slept in the sofa bed which was very easy to put up. There is a dishwasher which is always a bonus and a good TV with a selection of DVDs. The view from the apartment to the mountains is fantastic. In the basement there is a swimming pool and sauna which we used every evening and the kids loved it after skiing. All in all a great apartment in a good location. Would definitely recommend.
On arrival we were disappointed to find only one small bedroom containing small single beds which were only just big enough for our 11 and 13 year olds. There was no other bedroom only a sofa-bed which took real effort to construct (not for a woman of small stature or strength). There was one pillow and what could be described as a flat cushion as well as the duvet. We emailed the owner who immediately apologised for the description but were left with little alternative but to put up with having to turf children to bed so the sofa-bed could be made up for us. The kitchen is new but there is no draining board and with no microwave so we had to warm food in the the pans, which are old with no non stick coating making cleaning difficult, and I can cook without burning. The TV is so small, 18 inch at most, so that watching movies is hard and the volume is very limited. The ground floor location means you hear everything from the later arrivals into the apartment house, to the uber efficient 5 a.m. snow clearance in the street 20ft away and then the rubbish men too. If you can sleep through that on the sofa-bed good luck to you! On the positive side the pool was a real asset, when it was warmed up by Thursday, and the shared shower saved on the small bathroom. The walk to the ski-lift was doable but we ended up driving to the Achterjet lift as ski classes all met at the top of that lift so bear that in mind if you are putting kids in the Hermann Maier school. Disappointed is an understatement. The skiing was as good as ever but unfortunately not the apartment.
I love this place. We are a young family with two under 3 and this apartment and town are perfect to get them on to the snow.
The apartment has everything you could need, impeccably decor, clean and wifi! The fact it has a pool is a massive bonus.
The town has great famiy friendly restaurants with a great inviting atmosphere which many resort lack.
Can't wait to book up for next year.
