The drive to Fokianos is one of the most stunning I've had the pleasure of experiencing during my travels in Greece.

Be careful when you are driving as it is a very winding roads so take your time. The road is asphalt most of the way except for the last few hundred metres as you enter the beach.

There are 2 taverns at the beach which will keep you fed and watered. If you wish to stay the night and don't have a caravan, the tavern run by Mr. Kostas rents rooms upstairs.

Regarding the beach itself, it is very clean and great for swimming but be careful of the urchins that you'll clearly see. If they prick your feet, you'll be in a bit of pain for a few days. There are no trees to provide any shade so you might wish to bring beach umbrellas too.

Amazing beach, crystal clear waters nice taverns colours and a sense of calmness is dominating the peaceful gulf of Fokiano. Fokiano or Fokiana according to the locals is the most beautiful gulf of Southern east Arcadia and Peloponnese! Visit it and enjoy the nice crystal clear waters as well as the local cuisine of the taverns of Fokiano.
Both taverns offer cafe breakfast and fruits as well and are equal in service and flavours. Above the one tavern ( the one of Mr Kostas there are rooms to let)! Visit this year Fokiano as next year the beach may be destroyed as the new road from Kyparissi to Leonidio probably will pass from inside the beach, spoiling this marvellous coast!!

The first view of the bay from the mountains is absolutely beautiful. The beach it self is clean, the water transparently turquoise and you find yourself almost alone there. But from the beach you can see ( and hear) road construction work. The road is aiming for the beach locals told us. It is hard to believe that this is allowed, especially since there is a small wetland area adjacent to the beach that is a nature reserve for migratory birds. So visit when you are in the Poulithra area, and let's hope some authority will rescue this lovely spot
