“Just Perfect”
Reviewed 11 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We booked to stay at Belmont House for a week over Easter, having been for a weekend last year. It was even better this time! We were 8 adults and 7 children aged between 1 and 7 years, so our needs were quite diverse.

Location - Couldn't be better, nestled in the very pretty village of Edale, with the historic Kinderscout viewed from the back garden - beautiful, dramatic, peaceful. Lots of activities within easy reach, the families in our party did various activities: three walks on surrounding hills, two walks around Derwent Water, one trip to Speedwell cave, one trip to Castleton, one trip to Chatsworth House and probably some other things that I can't remember. There were still plenty of things that could have kept us occupied for longer.

Facilities - They seemed to think of everything that we would need, with a few extra touches that you would normally expect from a hotel, not a holiday let.

The House - Just amazing; beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, a large garden and outside seating area (we were very lucky with the weather). A large lounge, huge dining room and a breakfast area at the end of the enormous kitchen. The beds are soooo comfortable, the bathrooms have good showers and are recently done, so very clean.

The owner was away when we visited last year, but here this year - a really helpful and friendly chap!

I heartily recommend this wonderful house in a lovely location.

Top Tip: The owner is able to put you in touch with a local lady who makes the most amazing dinners - as we had travelled from far and wide (Dorset, Glasgow etc.), we ordered a lasagne for our first night and it was waiting for us when we arrived - delicious, home cooked food.

“Home away from home”
Reviewed 14 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Spend a lovely wkend at Belmont house. Edale is lovely and the house was perfect. We came for a hen do and all the ladies were so impressed with the house. Every room had it's own bath/shower room, the bedding and towels were all high quality. Booking the house was easy and the owners were really helpful with all queries. The icing on the cake was the huge chocolate cake that greeted us when we arrived. Lovely touch. Would highly recommend.

“The perfect house and location to celebrate a 70th birthday with lots of family”
Reviewed 22 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Belmont House is a spacious, generously equipped and very comfortable house in a stunning location, ideal for a big party with lots of children. We felt very much at home, the welcome was warm with enormous and delicious chocolate cake and log burners already lit, and the owner took a lot of trouble to make sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen is excellent for cooking on a large scale and dining room a pleasure to eat in with lovely old furniture. Beds are very comfortable and there were no queues for bathrooms with all the en suites. Brilliant!

“Lovely well-equipped house ideal for group get-together”
Reviewed 8 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Belmont House is a spacious comfortable house, beautifully furnished in a lovely setting. We were a group of adults staying over New Year with the hills on our doorstep for walking, Buxton, Castleton and Sheffield close by and 2 pubs within very easy walking distance.

The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed and it lead onto a comfortable lounge area. A warm and cosy house with plenty of fuel for the 2 log-burners. Pleasant garden with BBQ and seating area. The main lounge and dining room provided plenty of space for us all to be together. Bedrooms unfussy and stylish with very comfortable beds though one of the bedrooms on the second floor with its sloping ceilings is better suited to children.

The huge chocolate cake waiting for us on our arrival was much appreciated.

“A great Christmas 2014 in a beautiful house”
Reviewed 29 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

Just back from a fantastic Christmas in a stunning house in the picturesque village of Edale. We were a group of 10 adults and 3 children all together for a week long gathering. The house is immaculate and very clean, with plenty of space for all. The bedrooms were warm and 5 are en suite which was ideal for such a large number of people. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook the all important Christmas dinner. We ordered 2 dishes from a local cook, lasagne and beef and ale pie which were very delicious, full of meat and very tasty. The living room was perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine whilst watching the roaring fire. There was plenty of logs and coal.Father Christmas managed to deliver all the presents and left them in the living room. Morgan had decorated the house with natural decorations of ivy and greenery, and there was a huge tree in the dinning room. On the 23rd Dec following a suggestion from Morgan we attended a carol service in the church next door . The vicar was very welcoming and it was a lovely service. We went to both pubs in the village but especially liked ye old Nags Head. The staff were very welcoming, the food superb and all round fab atmosphere .In keeping with our family tradition we had a bbq on Boxing Day using the gas bbq provided which was underneath a shelter just by the back door. Made even more special when it started the snow and before we knew it the garden was glistening white.

Highly recommended, the owner Morgan was very helpful with questions and planning beforehand and popped in a couple of times to make sure we were all ok and had everything we needed.
