Property is in a beautiful, secluded, hilly area north of Rome. The first night we arrived we had a thunder and lightning storm that knocked out power. For 3 of the next 5 days for which we had rented it, the villa was without full power and water. The occasion was our daughter's wedding and ten of our guests were "accommodated" there. We also rented a neighboring/contiguous property in which to house the majority of the guests, which was about a three minute walk away. Thankfully it was a short walk as the inconvenienced guests had to use our showers due to the lack of water and power (lights). The owner of the villa was clearly out of her element in trying to deal with the predicament and I asked if there was anything we could do to help, she said, no, she was having issues.
The property needs TLC and there was a mouse sighting in an area where there should be no mice. The villa could be quite nice if some attention were given to its upkeep/maintenance. I wish the owner well because it really was, at one time, a beautiful home. Now, at best, it is faded glory.
I am writing this because I feel an obligation to those who are contemplating renting a property over four thousand miles away and cannot preview it in person. For now, until some effort is put into upgrading the infrastructure, I cannot recommend it.
