This lodge is a very tranquil place. Little or no traffic noise, good birdlife with a dawn chorus. Wonderful accommodation and ensuite and good variety of appliances. Toni (owner) very accommodating and explained the 'island way of life' and the studio unit very well. Excellent roomy deck with lovely view over treetops to the sea. Great sunsets.

Thanks for your lovely review. It is special to sit and watch those sunsets, isn't it? Just sorry the dolphins weren't accommodating enough to play in the bay while you were here!

These self-contained studio units are comfortable, including the bed, and offer all that you need for a short stay. There is plenty of hot water and power is solar. Would book this again on another visit.

Room Tip: As food is expensive on the island I would suggest to take some with you.

Nice friendly welcome from host Toni upon arrival. Informed us of what the island had to offer and the "must see" parts of the island not to miss which was very helpful. Just a stone throw away from the beach and restaurant/shop/dairy.
Room was nice and cosy with spectacular ocean views and breathtaking sunsets from your own private deck. Had all the basics you need to just relax and appreciate life as it is. Would definitely recommend Manuka Lodge and are hoping to visit again soon.

Room Tip: No preference. Each room has an awesome ocean view and amazing sunsets.

Toni - an awesum host. Luved the company of the pooches but wish they could've come in & spent time with us but understand reasons. They are gorgeous!!!
The views from our units - to die for!!! Given we are city folk, the tranquility of Manuka lodge blew us away. Holy moly - no tv, no internet bahaha but we coped.
Given being brought up in the sticks back in the hay day the native bird life came to pass & it became a comp as to who knew what bird was doing their korero except for a bloody broken down croking rooster up the hill somewhere about 4 in the am but hey we had one as well, so got over it.
The locals (u knew who they were) with the GBI salute or layed down kicked back composure - like glide time. Luved it. You knew who were local too coz the roads are so narrow that u don't want to go driving in the dark - no such a thing as a street light to be had so appeared quite a commonality to have vehicles marking side swiping scars etc
Gr8 island - Id go back for sure!!!
Whoever talked about no toaster - yes there is 1 but u just need to no how to use it & identify it. Unlike us found toaster but set off the smoke alarm bout 530 in the morning.
Hey if u r looking to go to Manuka L for gods sake go u wont no what hit u!!!
