My friend and I had not been to this restaurant for about 4 years following a couple of disappointing experiences with the food quality. Prior to this it had been our go-to Indian of choice. Last night (a Thursday evening) we'd thought we'd give it another go, we left equally disappointed.

The restaurant is looking tired and a bit unloved and needs a good makeover. We received very polite and friendly services upon arrival and our drinks and food order was taken quickly. We arrived before 7pm so it was not busy. However we waited around 45 minutes for 2 main meals, 2 rices and 2 breads.

Both curries were very bland and mine was very salty. While we had ordered 2 very different dishes, however the taste was almost identical. My chicken was not nice juice breast meat, but rather stripped chicken from a whole cooked bird and included a number of bone fragments. The parathas we ordered we inedible and tasted of nothing but under-cooked dough. My friends lamb chartinard was not presented as described in the menu (no peppercorns and coconut featured in the dish he received).

A complaint led to a small 5% discount off the bill which still came in at just under £50. The chef also sent out a replacement chartinard and rice to take home and try but this tasted no better. It was seems this is a seldom asked for dish and the chef needed to refer to a recipe to create it.

Suffice to say we won't be rushing back here again and it would take a significant effort on the restaurants part to convince us there is something worth coming back for. We know they can deliver amazing food as we have had it many times in the distant past. We'd always book this venue for big family events and celebrations so its a real shame the standards have slipped so much.

Come on Kuti's you know you can do an awful lot better than this! Don't put things on the menu that your chefs can't create to the highest standard, keep it simple and do it brilliantly.

Whilst staying at the Marwell Hotel we wanted to have a meal out. My Husband searched and found Kuti's Noorani. We used the online booking system with ease. On arrival, we were taken to our table by attentive staff. The Manager introduced himself and welcomed us to the restaurant. Service was excellent and the option of a kids menu with alternatives to just nuggets & chips was a refreshing sight! The food we ordered was served quickly, hot and was of excellent taste and standard. Again the Manager enquired if we had enjoyed our meal and seemed to appreciate our comments, as then offered us a liqueur. Will definitely return should we visit the area again!

Visited with family for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. My parents had pre-booked, but they didn't have the table ready, so we had to stand waiting for quite a time while they brought another table from somewhere to add to an existing table. We had a further long wait just for the drinks order to be taken, which in turn took a long time to arrive and was missing the water for my young son. After about an hour our food order was taken and eventually we ate. It was OK, but not great and by this point my son was melting down. It was now so late we had to leave before the rest of the family to get him back to the hotel to put him to bed. My parents were offered a bottle of Prosecco and a bottle of white wine in compensation, which was a bit of a slap in the face. What should have been a lovely celebration was a horrible experience.

Visited with family after moving away from the area - we always try to arrange a visit to Kutis when we are back in Southampton. As usual the food was great - butter chicken, chicken tikka, chicken biryani and various breads and sides. All piping hot. Good service as always! Would highly recommend.
