Just a simple "trattoria" with no "chame".
Very simple place, very very simple attention and service, fresh food well prepared but poorly presented. If you are around there, "pop in" for a bite, but do not expect anything particularly exciting.

Quaint hillside restaurant a short uphill stroll from the center. It feels like you are walking into a private residence but turns out to be a tasteful secluded restaurant off the beaten track. Local wine and an array of seafood make this hidden gem a lunchtime delight. Friendly and multilingual hosts with a smile.

A friend took me here for lunch.

Friendly, unpretentious and cozy atmosphere and good food; that is what you can expect. Fresh fish from the port of Muggia is the base for a good meal. The risotto di mare was excellent and I had an oven baked John Dory to follow which was very nice. For dessert I chose the freshly baked apple and chocolate strudel which was really good, baked by Alessandro's Mum. Deliciously soft and fluffy it was to die for. We had the house Tokaj, which now is called Friulano in Italy after the conflict with Hungary over the name. The wine tastes the same even after the name change!
You can take the bus boat from Trieste to Muggia which lasts 30 minutes; there are frequent sailing times even in the dead of winter and even during the Bora wind; that is up to 70kph winds. Beyond that and sailing is suspended.
Enjoy.
