I have been to this restaurant a number of times and sometimes it can be good when it is not too busy but at other times it seems to be over capacity and service can be slow.

I would stress that on all occasions I have turned up without a booking and so have sat in the downstairs area near the bar.

As other reviewers have stated, the tables can feel sticky and I have put this down to a lower level of service at busy times. Noisy children running around can also be a problem as can slow service from the bar.

The food however is good and reasonably priced, there is also a good drinks menu but you can't have anything that is not strictly on the menu - I tried to tailor a cocktail and it was a definite no-no!

If you turn up without too high expectations, you'll likely be happy and if you nab a table riverside, the view is nice.

Dirty cutlery, glasses, poor slow service, had to ask twice on more than one occasion AND still a service charge was added!

Went with 12 family for a 70th birthday celebration. They had run out of roasts on a sunday and fillet steaks by 5pm. We were not informed before sitting down. When the food came that we did order some was over cooked and the rest was average unless it was a burger or pasta for the kids which you cant really mess up. Very dissapointed and wont be going back again. In fairness the staff tried their hardest but were more like students then waiters. ☹️☹️

Came here as a party of 8 for a birthday dinner. Bar service downstairs was good but it went downhill from there. The restaurant is staffed by young waiters and waitresses who are friendly but just put down anything ordered and leave you to look after yourselves. There’s a real don’t care attitude from them sadly. The food was average - good chicken pies but terrible, mushroom starters that looked like they were made of one small mushroom chopped into pieces and served in melted cheese. The place isn’t very clean and it’s really expensive for what it is. Basically pub food rather than anywhere near gastropub. I definitely wouldn’t recommend until it gets smartened up and sorted out.

We have to disagree with some of the recent reviews. We had a couple of starters whilst sitting outside watching the river. The food was exceptionally delicious - especially the karaage chicken. Service was friendly and prompt and overall we had a wonderful visit and wished we lived closer so we could eat here more often
