Repubblica

Place and staff are very warm and welcoming. Food is excellent and many things are from the farmhouse itself. There is not a menu a la carte, but there is a big variety of starters and you can have more of what you prefer.

If you're in the area, you should try this restaurant. Booking is very important as they get very busy. It's full of locals which tells you how good it is. There is no menu, so this is not good if you are vegetarian/gluten intolerant. But, if you're not, it's fantastic. Red and white wine was on the table and bottled water. At around 8.30, the food starts arriving and it just keeps coming! Lots of antipasti, then a pasta course, then meat and salad and dessert. If you're lucky, you might get home made limoncello and grappa too. Nearly all the food is grown/reared right there. All of this for €25 a head too! Really friendly staff, although not much English is spoken, but this just adds to its charm. Brilliant!

This is a great Agriturismo, well attended by Italians, always a good sign! The food is excellent and copious amounts of it! All local ingredients. The place itself could do with a bit of TLC, but it is definitely worth a visit. Massa Martana is a lovely little town, only a short drive from Todi, but always a little bit cooler, as it's near the mountains.

While attending a wedding locally, we visited this restaurant purely on the basis of TripAdvisor rating (#1) and we were not disappointed. There is no menu, wine and water greet you at your table and the family serve you as if you were their distant cousins that they really wanted to look after. Each dish (and please don't ask how many they served, but there were a lot and not too many) was full of flavour and was served when they felt you were ready. I mean this as a total complement to this 'slow food' restaurant (apparently it's a reaction to the 'fast food' restaurants that blight the pleasure of eating) of which there are only a few in the region. They cater for meat eaters and vegetarians (myself being one) and it is an experience to behold if you are in the locality. Décor is very large family room, so no airs or graces in the surroundings, but again, this is the total charm of the place and you can dress up, or down, and still feel comfortable.

This is a true Umbrian dining experience. The restaurant is filled with locals, there is no menu because what is served is based on what is locally grown and in season. The meal starts with a variety of crostini and bruschetta and assorted meats and cheeses. Then comes the pasta...all homemade and then an assortment of grilled meats and dessert. The food is authentic, nonna is in the kitchen and most of the staff is related. It is a warm, wonderful, tasty experience you should not miss.
