I live in Nashville, the home of Gaylord (think Opryland Hotel). This place is very typical. It is inconveniently located away from the center of town, making it more difficult to get to, and not much development around it so you have to take a long cab (Uber) ride to do almost anything. However, since my last visit, there has been a proliferation of many small shops and restaurants. It has a large atrium that is themed, although it is difficult to figure out what the theme here is, with entertainment that is generally music oriented. The lobby bar is pretty small and selection is surprisingly limited. The sports bar on the first floor of the lobby is pretty good. The room numbering system is tricky to figure out (again typical) and it is easy to get lost. The rooms are good, but not great. The convention center is convenient and spacious. We were there in November and they had an "event" in the National Harbor area.....lighting of the Christmas tree (again a Gaylord thing) that backed up traffic to the hotel for miles (and hours) making several of our convention goers late (or absent) for a few events. Clearly built for conventions. Don't think I'd go here otherwise.

I spent 4 days at this hotel as part of a company event. This is probably the 6th time I stay at a Gaylord and the 2nd time in DC. It is solid and consistently good. Everything you need, completely isolated from any bad weather, the resort offers anything you need at a high level. Rooms, coffee shops, bars, gym, pool, gifts shops, spa and even a shuttle to the nearby outlets. The conference facility is also well organised with lots of space for every type of event you can think of. Genius!

This is a nice facility surrounded by enough to do to make it worthwhile to use as a home base as long as you're not spending all your time on the Capitol Mall. There are a decent number of restaurants nearby so you're not held captive like you are at the Gaylord Orlando, which is basically at the intersection of two freeways and not convenient to walk to anywhere. At the National Harbor one, you can walk on a bike path over to old town Alexandria VA and then take a water taxi back to the hotel, or even to Georgetown. The food at the hotel is unnecessarily expensive but it is a nicely furnished place with good public spaces.

Stayed here for a fencing tournament. Hotel itself is very nice, but I guess because of the tournament it was very expensive. Eating anywhere in the hotel is very costly and you really have to range out to find anything not insanely expensive.

Bed was very comfortable, room was large enough and nicely appointed. I loved that the toilet and shower were separate from the bathroom sink and counter- nice when more than one person is getting ready at a time. Nice view of the hotel entrance and the Marriott across the street.

Pool was large and warm enough, but the hot tub was off limits to kids.

Used the valet parking, they were fast and courteous and very nice.

No refrigerator or microwave in the room.

I stayed at the Gaylord over Labor Day weekend for a business convention.

The space is beautiful. But because so much of it is open, it can get pretty loud.

Everyone was helpful - all the staff, from the maids to the janitors to the front desk and bell service.

My room faced out over the atrium and to the water. Amazing view. It was really lovely. I had a king bed with a balcony. Super comfortable. Space to work. The bathroom was clean and well maintained.

There is a light show, in the main atrium every night. So if you don't like loud noise and bright lights, close your balcony door.

I really enjoyed my stay. I ate at all the restaurants, which I'll review individually. But again, staff was so nice and helpful.

All in all, I'd love to come back!
