We spent a week of the Children's Easter holidays at Apple Tree Cottage and it was just lovely. The house is really comfortable and has everything you might need. But what we weren't expecting were the views of the mountains and the peace and quiet of the place. Laura and Dermot were very friendly and welcoming but unobtrusive as well. They met us when we arrived and Laura had prepared a very thoughtful welcome pack filled with treats, some of which were home-made! You are perfectly positioned here to explore the Greenway and there are lots of other great things to do nearby as well. The local town, Kilmacthomas, has everything you need but it's like a step back in time as well - with quaint old pubs, cafe, sweet shops and library. We had a fab week. One of the best holiday rentals we have booked in Ireland.
Fantastic location with amazing views of Mahon Falls. Great walks in the mountains and really close to the lovely harbour town of Dungarvan. Laura and Dermot have provided a beautiful cottage with high quality furnishings. There was everything you could think of and more provided. Can not wait to go back again.
Our family of four have just returned from a 2 week stay at Apple Tree and we highly recommend it. From my initial contact with Laura the owner and subsequent e-mails/texts both she and her husband Dermot were very welcoming and nothing was too much bother. The house was spotlessly clean, well decorated and plenty of space. The wifi was very good - not patchy as it can be in some rural locations. The cottage is situated on a narrow, country road with fabulous views of the Comeragh mountains. Lovely peaceful rural location (you may spot rabbits in the paddock from the kitchen window!) Dungarvan is about 20 minutes drive away if you need to go supermarket shopping & there is a 4 screen cinema. There is an Applegreen petrol station with Subway & Chopstix at Lemybrien, only 10 min drive from the house, and Kilmacthomas has a good Centra store. There are plenty of activities locally and further afield. We were fortunate to have some good weather during our 2 week holiday and even ventured down into Wexford - this was our first holiday to the sunny south-east and I doubt it will be our last. We loved our stay in Apple Tree Cottage - we could have stayed longer!

My husband ,2 kids and I stayed at apple tree Cottage and loved it . Sitting at the open fire while being able to take in the spectacular views of the comeragh mountains was so serine and something we shall miss. There is a large front garden and a field to the rear so the kids were in their element. The house is situated on a country lane which makes it really safe & if you're interested in meeting the locals then just go for a stroll along the lane . Really loved our stay . Thanks so much Laura xx hopefully we'll get to stay again in the near future .
