Entrance fee is low and it is in no way as small as the reviews might suggest.

I struggled to enjoy this. The maintenance is mediocre at best. I don't believe the animals are badly cared for however some of the environment did not look ideal.

Ok for a short stop if passing

Unique zoo with lots of Himalayan animals. These animals require very cold weather and hence can be found at very high altitudes in Himalayan regions. Very rare to find them in natural habitat anywhere else so I recommend to visit this place for sure when you are in Kufri. Anyhow there is not much in Kufri apart from snow experience so visit to this park will add the charm to your trip.

Visiting the zoo was the first thing we did in Shimla. Walking distance from kufri horse ride. Natural habitat for many wild animals of Himalaya. Black and Brown bears , Leopard cat, Musk deer, Silver pheasant, Himalayan thar, Red jungle fowl were some of them. Even though they are in cages, close access to many animals. Panoramic landscape adds more beauty to this nature park. Walking shoes is recommended.
Takes more than an hour to wonder around the entire park.
Nothing much at the museum.
Opens from 10 am to 5 pm. There is an entry fee plus camera fee.
Parking and toilet facilities available.

Loved the tranquility. Lots of greenery. But there were many cages that were empty. Was disappointed if you call it a zoo. But an overall good place to trek amidst the greenery.
