We rented this ground floor flat with 2 terraces and a small garden for ourselves and our adult daughter. It was in perfect condition and even better than the photos. The best Niumba flat we have rented yet without a doubt. The flat is a 10 minute walk from the centre of the town, slightly uphill so it´s about a 15 minute walk back, but it is a pleasant walk through a park part of the way. The flat overlooks a very beautiful forest to the rear, and a small park to the front so there is very little noise at night. The pool and ground are lovely and well kept. The kitchen had everything you could need and we ate outside overlooking the little garden, watching the birds zip in and out eating the crumbs and seeds we left for them. We also had use of the underground parking space and it was very handy indeed. Ignacio and Alicia made us very welcome and we will definately return.
I strongly recommend it for a perfect family holiday. The kids will love the pool.
We stayed in this apartment for 7 nights during the Basketball World Championships. It was a quiet location, just 35 minutes from Bilbao by a very scenic if busy road with easy access to BEC, the exhibition centre where the tournament was held. The apartment is very well fitted out with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was clean and attractive and the two outdoor terraces are great for evening or morning meals or just sitting and chatting after a busy day. The bed was reasonable, but most New Zealanders would like two pillows each! The apartment is on the ground floor of a very large apartment building (7 storeys, 112 apartments) and noise from neighbours, including plumbing, is occasionally intrusive. Wifi can be organised by the tenant through the Orange company in Castro Urdiales. We had to set up a new account which wasn't expensive, but was a bit of an extra hassle. Parking is easy in the complex's underground park. Ignacio, the manager, is extremely friendly and helpful. He provided us with maps of the town and area and location of attractions and shops etc. His English is limited, and so was our Spanish, but he was very understanding and managed to communicate very well with us. Castro Urdiales is a very appealing town to stay in, visit the church and fort as well as the beaches for good swimming.

The apartment is a 10 minute walk from shops, restaurants and the beach, and is well furnished and equipped, with secure parking. However, the double bed needs replacing, as it's very uncomfortable for two people, and you can hear every sound and bowel movement from upstairs.
