Family run campsite. Clear they take pride in their work. Very hospitable. Allowed me to have amazon deliver a new camping stove.
Travelling by motorbike. Great roads close by.
Great facilities on the campsite.
Cheap bar, shop and restaurant on site. Freaks bread 0800 every morning.
Wifi available in all areas. Washing machines.
20min walk to Potes town.

We stayed in this lovely campsite at the end of our annual 5-6 week Euro tour in our VW T6 California, much of which consists of "free" camping on the coast. We'd checked out a couple of other sites and weren't too impressed (paying 30-40 Euros a night to be packed in like a sardine doesn't appeal - which is partly why we free camp a lot) but this immediately appealed - lovely position with great views and nicely separated pitches, a stunning pool, super clean facilities and helpful staff. The restaurant could possibly offer a little more variety (we eat fish but not other meat) but was pretty reasonable.
The campsite is also a great place to base yourself to explore the lovely town of Potes which just manages to stay the right side of "too touristy" and the stunning mountains that surround the area. I'm a keen runner so ran up the nearest one past the Monastery and was rewarded with even more stunning views but rather battered legs.
I'd return here in a heartbeat; a brilliant campsite that gets all the important bits right.

Room Tip: This is a campsite not a hotel!

We stayed in camp for 3 nights and was our the best camping experience. Everything from the staf, environment and bathrooms were super ! A lot of things to do in surrounding areas - mainly hiking and MTB. They also offer a tasty daily menu for a great price. Strongly recommend !

We have traveled extensively throughout Europe in our motorhome for the last five summers and this has to be the best site on which we have stayed. Pitch sizes vary but ours was quite generously proportioned, amenity blocks are spotlessly clean at all times, the site has been beautifully constructed in the traditional style of local stone and wood and is complimented by summer flowering plants and plentiful trees providing shade. The pool area is delightful and refreshingly quiet when compared to those on other sites we have visited where overcrowding can be an issue. Despite visiting in the school holidays the site was peaceful (after midnight the rules on keeping noise to a minimum are respected). Some reviewers have said that the site is crowded - we visited in the last week of August and there was plenty of room with many empty pitches. The friendly and helpful staff in the reception, shop and restaurant (and the lady who works tirelessly cleaning the sanitary block) help to make this the perfect site. For views of and access to the Picos this site is well positioned. Pitches at the top of the site have the better views but this may be offset by the smaller pitches there. Unlike other sites in Europe there does not appear to be a large contingent of seasonal campers occupying pitches which makes this site all the more attractive to me. The restaurant serves a limited menu but the food is perfectly cooked and reasonably priced. Communal shaded areas are well thought out with electric points and picnic benches and are a popular place for families and groups to congregate throughout the day and evening. The footpath to Potes along the main road is safe but may be a problem for those with mobility issues on the return - it's a bit of a climb. The Fuente De cable car is an easy 23km drive from the site and well worth a visit.

We stayed at La Viorna for two weeks and were thrilled by the last minute find. Rarely have we come across (and we've camped for years!) such a clean, friendly, value for money place. The views made it even better. Notably, rather than hiking up prices in the mini-shop and restaurant, as others do, the prices were on a par with supermarkets. How refreshing. The staff's help and friendliness second to none. There's no organised entertainment, which we loved (others might not) and you need a swimming hat for the pool. Can't recommend it highly enough.
