Second time we’ve stayed at Heath cottage with 3 of our granchildren. It is a lovely bungalow which is very well equipped. Through the garden, which backs onto woodland, the kids had an easy walk to the local playground. Lots to do in the vicinity - Landmark, Highland Wildlife Park, Newtonmore heritage park and the steam train which stops at Boat of Garten to replenish its water tank.
Unless you need to buy outdoor gear, there is no need to go to congested Aviemore. A supermarket trip to Granton on Spey is much better and is hardly any further away.
Had a wonderful week. A surprisingly spacious cottage with a wonderful back garden with a gate leading through to brilliant woodland walks. The whole family, from Granny to the kids just had a ball all week. The surrounding area has so much to do to keep everyone occupied and the views are stunning.
cottage great location backing onto woods for walking to Loch vaa or Aviemore on Speyside way .
Handy stores opposite and good village facilities.
Bedrooms in cottage were really good as was conservatory. Living room suffered from lack of external windows and kitchen needs updating.
Great week and would recommend for a base to eat out from but not cater for a large family .
Had the most amazing week
The garden at Heath cottage is stunning and the cottage itself was simply
perfect everything provided you need, nick and Heather were very helpful
and we hope to come back and stay soon
Heath Cottage is a perfect spot in which to relax or to use as a base to explore the beautiful Cairngorms. It is situated in a quiet, compact village that provides for all your basic needs - good coffee shops, a pub, restaurant, grocery store and church - not to mention the beautiful River Spey, the steam railway, golf, tennis and a magnificent forest literally 'on your back step'. The cottage is fully equipped, very clean and well-maintained, near enough to major roads to make travelling easy, but distant enough to enjoy an aura of calm. Recommended!
